Who gets paid first in your home?

In most homes the mortgage company, light and gas company are the first to be paid. We believe in the tithe, give, save and invest principal - For some this is give, save and invest. It is important that you pay yourself as a part of your budget.

Do you have an emergency fund? What happens when something goes wrong in your home? Let me guess…Mr. Visa and Ms. AMEX are asked to take care of the crisis.

There are times when you could use Mr., Visa and Ms. AMEX but it should not be in place of an emergency fund.

Once you use them are you paying them off?

As a nation we have a debt crisis and we must all do our part to gain control of the beast. I know that you want to get control of your debt and have more money to spend; but what about having more money to invest, contribute to goodwill, travel and simply enjoy life?

Diva Challenge: Maximize your 401K and 403b accounts and if there is no 401K or 403b options start a ROTH IRA. Think long-term not short-term.

Diva Challenge:  Focus on what you believe in; money is a means to an end. What is the end you want to accomplish?

Diva Challenge: Always make your reason for wanting money “Bigger” than you. If you just want to pay your bills you will get just enough to pay your bills.
